From pumpkin picking and haunted houses to tailgates and soccer games, there is no shortage of fun activities for you and your family this fall. NJM suggests hopping in the car and visiting some of New Jersey’s best destinations to enjoy all of the fun and beauty fall brings.
Fall Family Fun Weekends at Terhune Orchards – Throughout October at this Princeton venue, families can pick-their-own apples and pumpkins, visit the farm market for homemade pies, donuts and apple cider, enjoy pony rides and wagon rides, venture through the corn stalk maze and visit the barnyard of farm animals. Families can also enjoy a wide range of food and live music from some of the best local talent.
For those looking for a good scare, check out Six Flags Fright Fest in Jackson. Promised to be the scariest season yet, Fright Fest is filled with angry zombies, terror trails and terrifying new shows through the end of October.
If you’re heading down the shore there’s something for everyone. On Oct. 23, Point Pleasant will host a Halloween Parade featuring floats, bands and creative costumes. Through the end of October, Wildwood’s Morey’s Piers will be transformed into Terror on the Boardwalk, featuring dark incarnations of the Sea Serpent, SuperScooters, Tea Cups, Pirates of the Wildwoods, Rollie’s Coaster, Musik Express and Moby Dick.
Tuckerton Seaport will host its 10th Annual Haunted Seaport, Oct. 25, 26, and 27, where visitors can stroll down the boardwalk, explore a haunted forest, enjoy hayrides and bring the kids to the pumpkin patch.
Whatever your destination, get out and enjoy the fall foliage in New Jersey and be sure to take NJM along for the ride.
